We had a special guest in our school to teach the students about farm safety. Our Grade 3 class completed a program called "Hear, Hear, Listen Up". They were reminded about keeping our ears safe so that we do not damage our sense of hearing and when proper safety headphones should be used.
In Language Arts, the students worked on finishing their All About Me writing project. Their goal was to write and illustrate five paragraphs about themselves.
We also completed a page for our Memory Books. The students brainstormed enough ideas to fill all 3 whiteboards!! They then chose their top 10 Best Memories of Grade 3 to write down.
We completed the last four letters in our cursive duotangs and then they worked on some practice pages. They are pretty excited to be able to hand write and do their own signature.
In Math, we finished our measurement unit by comparing units of gram and kilogram. We used a scale to estimate and measure a few objects around our classroom, including one of our students. We also discussed units of time and compared seconds, minutes, and hours.
The students completed their Data Analysis unit. We surveyed and graphed some favourite snacks for our party next week. The students surveyed all of the students in the classroom, tallied the results and then created bar graphs.
We completed our last culture study and celebrated Peru by enjoying a few snacks. The students also painted their Peruvian masks.
Thank you to our Student of the Week for the DELICIOUS dessert!!
