Anti-Bully Project

Robina Baker had the opportunity to be part of an Anti-Bully Project that was video taped at our school this week. The students participated in a whole group scene in the gymnasium and we also had a part that took place in our classroom. Mrs. Kloschinsky will share the link for the final product, when it is complete. The kids really enjoyed this experience!

We also worked on a writing project as a continuation to the Snow Globe story we read last week. The students were given nouns, verbs and adjectives to group together and create sentences. The sentences needed to flow and be on one topic. They then typed their good copies and added pictures to the google document.

We also did some practice for the Spell-a-thon. The students took turns being the "teacher" and tested each other on the words. The pre-test was also done this week and went home. Please make sure you practice these words with your child. We'd love to win the Dairy Queen ice cream party for the most 100% marks!
We taught them how to play "Spelling Battleship" with a classmate. Each pair of students picked their own Spell-a-thon words to add to their battleship board.

In Math this week, we started regrouping numbers with 0's in the ones and tens place. (eg 100-32) This was a tricky concept to be introduced to but the students caught on quick. We did some practice on the smart board and most were very eager to volunteer to go up.

Our Hearing and Sound unit has come to an end. The students did a fabulous job creating unique and creative instruments to present to the class. We enjoyed watching them demonstrate their understanding of pitch and volume. To end the week, the students formed "bands" and had some time to play their instruments together.
Thank you for sending in the kleenex boxes. The students took some time to paint and decorate their boxes. They have now been transformed into some pretty awesome Valentine monsters!!

For Phys. Ed. this week, the students moved through strength and cardio circuit. We had a lot of sweaty kids after each class!

We had another cold week but lots of indoor recess fun!! The Lego creations are very impressive. Another favourite activity is playing board games.
