This week we also had a bake sale to raise money for water.org. , as part of our Global Citizenship unit in Social. It was a busy 2 days and the students raised over $1000! There were SO many delicious treats! Thank you so much for your contribution!
We completed all of our multiplication facts tests and celebrated with a parfait party! The students enjoyed 1-5 scoops of treats on top of their frozen yogurt waffle bowl. They were delicious and well deserved!
We also worked through our Measurement unit, exploring perimeter and working through a number of word problems together. The students also compared units of time; minutes, hours, days, weeks and months.
We completed our Life Cycles unit this week and released our butterflies. The students were excited to see them set free, in the flower bed, at the front of the school. Some of the butterflies hung around in the flowers for a bit, so they were even able to watch them use their proboscis!
The students also took home their sunflowers! They were surprised to see how much they have grown within just a few weeks.
We started illustrating our Fractured Fairy Tales this week. They are doing an amazing job creating detailed drawings to go along with their stories. These published stories will be included in their memory books that they will take home at the end of the year.
The students used a variety of materials to create Peruvian masks. They were very creative and will finish them off next week with metallic paint.
The students were treated to a special performance by a cheer leading group from Leduc.
Congratulations to our Student of the Week!!!
For all our volunteers, please join us on Tuesday for coffee and muffins!
