Time Warp!

The students had a great time dressing up for TIME WARP DAY!

Rock Talk is still a favourite! The students love sharing the rocks they have found, purchased or have been given. They have even started applying their knowledge to give more description to the rocks, like whether it is igneous, sedimentary or metamorphic.

In Language Arts, we have been taking about proper paragraph formation. When reading from our Collections series, we dissect paragraphs and talk about the topic sentence, the juicy details and the closing sentence. After painting our Pet Rock, we wrote a paragraph describing them. The students worked on a rough copy that was edited. The good copy is displayed with their finished rock.

The students played "Making Words" with the mystery word "MINERALS". They did a great job thinking of words with these letters. It is amazing to see what they come up with. Great teamwork, 3B!

We have finished the "Patterns" unit in Math and have introduced our new unit, "Numbers to 1000". To launch the unit, we read a story called "How Much, How Many, How Far, How Heavy, How Long, How Tall is 1000?".

We learned the techniques of using watercolour paints and experimented on our scarecrows. The students found it challenging to use more water and less paint but they all look wonderful! We are very impressed with this group of little artists!

Congratulations to our new "Student of the Week"!
