Twin Day!

The students and staff took part in "Multiple Day". We had some great "twinning" outfits.

In Language Arts, we completed our novel study of "The Mouse and the Motorcycle". We read chapter 13 and completed an activity, writing about the important lessons Ralph and Keith learned throughout the story. The students were also treated with a movie of "The Mouse and the Motorcycle" and some popcorn.

The students started working on "The Three Little Pigs" fractured fairy tale project. As a class we wrote an example for a beginning, while modelling proper conventions and adding details to sentences. After writing together, the students got to work on their own story beginnings. They also had the opportunity to share their beginnings with the class.

In our "Language Notebooks", we completed some work on how to do proper quotation marks. We looked at different examples of how to put the "said" at the beginning and put the "said" at the end of a sentence.

This week in Math, we decided to take a kilometer walk so the students could get a "real life" experience of how far a kilometer actually is.

The students also learned about perimeter and practiced calculating the distance around a variety of shapes.

In Science, we had many exciting changes take place this week! The students were thrilled to see that the butterflies had finally emerged from their chrysalises! We have also been working through a booklet, learning about the life cycles of different species.

In PE, the students enjoyed DrumFit! It's always an activity that is enjoyed by the students as they rock out and get some exercise!

The students learned about pointillism and symmetry in Art this week.

Here are the super star readers!

Congratulations to our new Student of the Week!
